Come experience an exciting week of gymnastics at BYU!  Whether you are a serious gymnast eager to experience intense instruction or a beginner who loves the sport, this is the camp for you.

Focus on all the elements of gymnastics under the direction of BYU head coach Brad Cattermole.  Learn about conditioning, training goals, visualization and relaxation skills, dance composition, and USGF training techniques.

With the camp’s low coach–to–gymnast ratio, you will have the opportunity to receive personal instruction and feedback.  Groups will be divided according to skill levels for more challenging and productive training.

Evening sessions will include instructional gymnastics training, feedback, detailed workouts, technical workshops, and fun recreational activities with other camps.

BYU Girls’ Gymnastics Camp 2009 is the place for you!

Director

Brad Cattermole begins his 20th season as the head coach of BYU gymnastics. Cattermole has quietly built the Cougar program into a respected national power.

After taking over the program midway through the 1988 season, he promptly led the Cougars to the first 185 in school history. He has since guided the Cougars to school records in 8 of the next 11 years, missing record marks only with 1994, 1995, and 1998 when injuries and more stringent scoring kept numbers down.

In 1998, the Cougars broke the 196 barrier for the first time, hitting a 196.325 against Utah in the final meet of the season in Provo. In 2000, once again in Provo, Cattermole's squad broke 196 for the second time, pulling off an upset victory over the University of Utah by a score of 196.05 to 195.975 in the last meet of the season. Last year the Cougars shattered all school records, surpassing the 196 mark five different times, a mark they had only reached three times in history. On March 16 against Utah State at home, BYU reached the 197 mark for the first time in history with a 197.325. Then one week later they broke that record again with a 197.375 at Utah, a full 1.450 points higher than any score they had received on the road. In the record–setting season, BYU set new team highs in each event and in the all–around.

His recruiting efforts have netted five U.S. National Team members, six Canadian National Team members, and numerous Junior Olympic National and Elite champions.
